See your business risks clearly. Make sure your business is resilient.
Large corporations have risk departments. SMEs don't. They're left to navigate operational, financial, technology, and supply chain risks on their own.
1 in 3 UK businesses experienced an incident last year. 43% have no formal risk management plan. Most didn't see it coming. They didn't know their vulnerabilities until it was too late.

FrontierRisk started with a frustration both of us had seen too many times.
Between us, we've spent over 20 years advising insurers, brokers, and financial institutions on risk strategy — Arturs at KPMG and Capco, Dorji at Alvarez & Marsal and across the Lloyd's market. We've sat in boardrooms where a single risk model costs six figures and takes months to build. The irony? The businesses that need risk insight the most — the small ones, the growing ones — can't access any of it.
We met through the UK insurance consulting circuit, discovered we'd both studied at world-class business schools (Oxford and Cambridge, though we try not to hold that against each other), and more importantly, shared the same conviction: risk management shouldn't be a luxury reserved for corporations with dedicated departments and seven-figure budgets.
The tipping point came when a friend — a contractor running a 15-person firm in Manchester — had a subcontractor incident that nearly wiped out his business. Not because the risk was unforeseeable, but because nobody had ever shown him where his blind spots were. His insurer renewed his policy every year without once asking if his cover actually matched his exposure.
That conversation turned into a prototype. The prototype turned into FrontierRisk.
We built what we wished existed for every SME we'd ever spoken to: a 5-minute assessment that translates complex risk frameworks into plain English, covers 9 industries, and gives business owners a clear picture of where they're exposed — before something goes wrong.
One from Latvia, one from Bhutan, both based in the UK, both obsessed with the same question: why should understanding your own business risks be so hard?
Risk specialists who believe every business deserves to know their blind spots.
